Working Toward a New Direction in Iraq
The war in Iraq has become one of the defining issues of our time. When the Democrats gained the majority in Congress, they promised to work toward a new direction in Iraq something they have tried to do time and time again over the last year. To the frustration of everyone involved, President Bush has dug in his heels and stated publicly that changes in the wars course will have to come with the next Administration. Despite the President's unwillingness to work with the democratic majority, Congress will continue to work towards changing the direction of the war. -- more

A New Direction for America
Americans are worried about energy prices, health care costs, college tuition, and the continued war in Iraq. The Majority leadership in Congress is ignoring these concerns and taking our country in the wrong direction – choosing instead to pursue issues designed to distract and divide. Democrats have a plan to take our country in a new direction to create economic opportunity and security for middle-class working families by ensuring access to affordable health care and energy, good jobs, and a secure retirement, and by putting an end to Bush’s failed Iraq policy.  -- more
